What you sleep on matters.
A king mattress that’s too soft or too hard affects your quality of rest – and how your body feels the next day.
It’s why every Seniors Plus king bed comes with a 60-day mattress swap guarantee.
But your sleep surface also supports your health in other ways.
A king-sized adjustable base can reduce snoring and sleep apnoea – or alleviate swollen legs and back pain.
A king mattress enhanced with CELLIANT can improve circulation, cell oxygenation, and joint pain.
And a king bed with vibration therapy can increase blood flow and muscle relaxation, making it easier to move better when you wake up.
Because an enhanced adjustable bed is for more than nights – it’s for life.

No. Some mattress structures can’t be compressed without damaging them. Most inner-spring varieties, for example, have a semi-rigid, interconnected structure that makes them difficult to bend – think Bonnell coils, offset coils, and continuous coils. Water beds also aren’t suitable for adjustable beds.
Compatible mattresses include inner-spring mattresses with isolated coil units (like the pocket coils in the Cosmos or the micro-coils in the Titanium) and memory foam mattresses (like the Celestial). The easiest way to make sure a mattress fits your adjustable bed is to buy them together.
Adjustable beds are suitable for anyone who can use a normal bed – and some people who can’t. Some mattress manufacturers claim that side and stomach sleepers shouldn’t use adjustable beds, which isn’t correct.
While you shouldn’t elevate your spine or legs when sleeping on your stomach or side, adjustable beds can also be used for in-bed activities like reading and watching TV. You don’t necessarily need to sleep in an elevated position.
Even if you are a natural side or stomach sleeper, certain health conditions might make it necessary to adopt a different sleeping position. Shoulder, neck, and lower back pain can all be worsened by sleeping on your side or stomach – and alleviated through the right bed posture. Lower-leg oedema, which is often associated with diabetes, can be managed by elevating your legs at night.
If you’re a side or stomach sleeper without chronic health conditions who only uses your bed for sleeping, then you probably don’t need an adjustable bed. For everyone else, an adjustable bed is a convenient way to support your health and energy.
Yes, many healthcare practitioners – such as GPs and allied health professionals like occupational therapists – recommend adjustable beds. Elevating your legs or spine can help alleviate pain and improve blood flow. Adjustable beds have been clinically validated as interventions for conditions like:
Adjustable beds can also make it safer for people with mobility conditions, such as arthritis, to get in and out of bed.
Keep in mind that not all adjustable beds are built equal. Enhanced adjustable beds feature therapeutic enhancers that can provide additional health benefits. All Seniors Plus mattresses, for example, include CELLIANT, a thermo-reactive textile that converts body heat into infrared energy – which supports better circulation and cell oxygenation. CELLIANT has been shown to improve sleep, tissue recovery, athletic performance, and thermoregulation in 10 peer-reviewed studies.
Seniors Plus bases also feature an enhancer: whole-body vibration therapy (WBVT). Unlike CELLIANT, which is a proprietary technology, WBVT has been used extensively as an intervention for everything from cerebral palsy to osteoarthritis. Our bases include low-frequency settings, which may improve circulation and muscle relaxation.
